Show notes:
Go see them live, period.
I've seen them four times and although their show does not change drastically from year to year, I'm never disappointed. This time around they've finally added something from the long-awaited "Night Castle" album and few different specialty numbers.
I recorded this from right up in front of the stage, so you may hear a number of things not normally heard on a show. In the quietest moments you can hear the motorized fans that cool the stage lights and blowers pushing "fog" up along the front of the stage, the creaking and whirring of the big light riggings above the stage, band members bantering off mic and even the clicking of their official photographer who was shooting throughout the entire show. He said he was shooting for next year's program. And how the band can withstand the heat and volume from those pyrotechnics and fog jets is beyond me!
A drawback of being that close is that the sound is ambient as opposed to direct. The main arena sound system was above and behind me so there is some boominess to the recording. Makes for a good jam on the home stereo though...
I brought a camera along and one attendant told us up front that we could take still pictures. The show started, I took two pictures and another guy who looked like he worked for the band said NO! I'm wondering if it was because they didn't want us interfering with their photographer. So I got no good pictures. Oh well.
If anyone has any song title additions or corrections, let me know and I'll edit the set list.

Hi all,

this is the opening set CIIC played on the Saxon/Doro/CIIC Christmas tour over here in Germany some 5 years ago.Nice set, mostly tracks from their just a few weeks before released debut CD "Watching in Silence" with a few Savatage classics thrown in

I already upped the Doro set last year. Unfortunately due to an agreement I have with Biff Byford (Saxon frontman and mastermind) up to this very second I`m not allowed to offer any of my 20+ Saxon masters I legally and openly taped in the past 9 years. So please don´t ask. Maybe this will change in the future, who knows.Will try to talk Biff into giving in sharing all my Saxon masters with you here at the next Saxon show I`ll hit.

Simply outstanding bootleg! Some of the Marquee songs were released on the "Big Hits & Nasty Cuts" collection, but the sound quality on those songs were awful. These tracks are the original, officially released B-sides from the "You Can't Stop Rock n Roll" 12" and 7" singles. The sound quality here seems even a bit better than the vinyl releases. Twisted Sister were B.A.D. when they were touring for "Under the Blade". They had yet to conquer the world, yet were hell bent on doing so. As the liner notes state, "They were still raw, hungry, and ready to take on the world...They were still an in-your-face, hard core metal band at heart and were determined to kick your ass each and every time they stepped on stage." While I loved their studio albums, there is no denying that these guys were far more powerful live and these tracks capture that raw, live energy. This two disc collection essentially has the same songs on both sides, with one small difference. Disc one is mixed so that the songs sound like one continuous concert. The second disc leaves the tracks in their original state as they were released on the various singles, and even has them in the order they were released in. As well as the live tracks, three studio b-side tracks from the "You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll" 12" single are also included. On top of being a superb recording, this bootleg also features nice packaging to boot! (Thanks to my fellow SMF's, Chris & Trog!)
"Shoot 'Em Down" was the B-side of "The Kids Are Back".

"What You Don't Know (Sure Can't Hurt You)", "Bad Boys of Rock 'n' Roll", "Run For Your Life" were on the B-side of "The Kids Are Back" 12".

"Sin After Sin" is the B-side of the "I Am (I'm Me)" 45 RPM single.

"Tear It Loose", "Destroyer", "It's Only Rock 'n Roll" are the B-side to the "I Am (I'm Me)" 12" single.

"Let the Good Times Roll/Feel So Fine" is the B-side to the "You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll" 45 RPM single.
